Applicant must be a member of the Russian Orthodox Church under 35 years of age. Considering candidates of 35 years and above depends on their motivation letter and proceeds as an exception.

Applications from employees of synodal and diocesan institutions as well as professors of theological institutions of the Moscow Patriarchate are a priority.

Applicant must have a strong intention to retain in respective hierarchy disposal after finishing studies abroad - this term is to be fixed in initial application in a written form. Applicant is ought to have a blessing in a form of a letter either from the ruling bishop or from a synodal department head.

Commission can additionally require other documents not in the main list and ask for originals prior completion of the application procedures. In case Commission is provided with an incomplete or incorrectly prepared set of documents application can be denied.

Provided documents are processed within four weeks time and respective written notice is made to an applicant.

Upon analysis of the documents comes personal interview with an applicant.

An applicant should read the Commission standing orders (Regulation) beforehand.

Required documents:

  1. initial application form (please, send a scancopy of hand-signed form to Commission’s email);
  2. recommendation letter signed by applicant's ruling bishop or a synodal department head respectively;
  3. motivation letter;
  4. internal passport (copy), domestic applicants provide copies of the main page and a page with the current registration;
  5. international passport (copy), skip in case internal passport/id has international use;
  6. all graduation certificates and diplomas, incl. high school (copies);
  7. autobiography, detailed and non-template (please, send a scancopy of hand-signed form to Commission’s emai;
  8. Curriculum Vitae (please, send a scancopy of hand-signed forms to Commission’s email);
  9. marriage certificate (if married);
  10. foto: in color, 35×45 mm (please, send a digital copy to Commission's email);
  11. certificates of proficiency in foreign languages (if any).
